"I'm proud to call the Jersey Shore my home.  New Jersey is big part of who I am and I'm grateful for that.  The waves might not be the best in the world, but when it gets good, it gets world-class.  To be a dedicated Jersey surfer, you have work harder than most, but like anything in life, the more you put into it, the more you'll get out of it."

His education has focused on the philosophical importance of the ocean and its treasures. His love for the ocean has led him to work aboard numerous fishing vessels for the past six summers. Along with a stellar education and hundreds of hours at sea, Matt is a great addition to Summer Time Surf. Matt's knowledge focuses on the human uses of the coastal and ocean space and the resources therein. His teachings include the structure and science of waves, tides, currents, fish habitat, indigenous marine species to the northeast, fish behavior, and the politics of the ocean. He also surfs pretty darn good too.

Name: Todd H

Surfing since: adolescence

Travels: Ocean County NJ (jk), Southern California, Costa Rica, Foley Beach S.C.

Home Break: Asbury Park to Spring Lake

Food: Jose's Mexican Restaurant

Favorite wave: A line up full of friends.

Education: The State of New Jersey Rutgers University New Brunswick, B.A. Political Science.

Aspirations:
The ocean is beautiful all by itself. There exists no painting that can depict it, and there are no words to describe it. Surfing is a composition, an expression, and the one single act that does justice to the natural beauty of the ocean. I always want to be a surfer, a hybrid between athlete and artist.
