Matt has a degree from the University of Rhode Island in Marine and Coastal Policy with a concentration on Aquaculture and Fisheries Technology. His education has focused on the philosophical importance of the ocean and its treasures. His love for the ocean has led him to work aboard numerous fishing vessels for the past six summers. Along with a stellar education and hundreds of hours at sea, Matt is a great addition to Summer Time Surf. Matt’s knowledge focuses on the human uses of the coastal and ocean space and the resources therein. His teachings include the structure and science of waves, tides, currents, fish habitat, indigenous marine species to the northeast, fish behavior, and the politics of the ocean. He also surfs pretty darn good too.
